Moravians In Mission: Prayer Shawl Ministry
To date, more than 80 Prayer Shawls have been made, prayed over, and distributed.
They have been given to individuals in both times of need and times of joy. They have been given
to individuals who have been or are dealing with cancer. They also have been given to infants who
are being brought for the Sacrament of Baptism. Each time, the shawl or blanket is presented
so that the recipient knows that as they wrap themselves with the shawl or blanket, they are also
being wrapped by the prayers of the community of faith that has presented it to them.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is coordinated by the Great Kills Moravian Church. All knitters are
welcome to participate. You may also participate by doing some knitting at home. Please call
the Church (718-984-6545) for more information.
