1.      For the fruit of all creation, thanks be to God.

For His gifts to ev’ry nation, thanks be to God.

         For the plowing, sowing, reaping,

silent growth while we are sleeping,

future needs in earth’s safe-keeping, thanks be to God.

2.       For the harvest of the Spirit, thanks be to God.

For the good we all inherit, thanks be to God.

For the wonders that astound us,

for the truths that still confound us,

most of all, that love has found us, thanks be to God.

*A LITANY

Give thanks to God, because God is good.

God’s love has no limits.

Some people were as lost as travelers without a map.

Some people lacked food, water, or a roof over their heads.

In their distress they called out to God for help.

God put them on the right road. God met their most basic

needs.

God worked through compassionate and faithful men and women.

This is God’s nature, to help those who are going through hard

times.

God says, “You are my children, and I love you!”

The Holy One is in our midst.

God’s Spirit gathers us in.

The Holy One is in our midst.

Let us listen for the voice of the prophets,

and remember that God defines wealth not as the abundance of goods, but as the abundance of sharing.

Come, Friends, and bring your choicest treasure.

We come with our talents, as well as our wealth.

Come, Friends, bring your choicest treasure.

We come together to be an abundant people bearing fruit for a hungry world.

From a world that would have us focus on ourselves, and what we want, we now focus on God’s steadfast love, remembering …

The Holy One is in our midst.

Come, let us worship our God!

                                              (Please be seated)

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Source of all good things,

we have stored up treasures that do not last,

and filled ourselves with bread that does not satisfy.

We have looked to other providers,

when only You can truly satisfy

our deepest hunger and thirst.

Forgive us for seeking elsewhere

what You have already given us

so richly in Jesus, our Lord.

Stir our hearts by Your Spirit,

to set our attention on things above,

on treasures that last forever.

Clothe us with the new self,

that Christ may be our all in all. Amen.
