Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe
July 23-29
At Shake It Up Café our kids will explored the Bible as a cookbook filled with recipes for living out God's word. Through interactive lessons, they celebrated biblical festivals that revealed the secret ingredient for being a follower of God.
Our "Chef's In Training" included:
Enjoy heaping helpings of God's word
Create a lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ
Celebrate the life-changing love of Jesus and help
Take God's recipe into the world
After each VBS 2011 Bible adventure, our chefs-in-training learned a Bible Bite memory verse that reinforced each Bible story. A Bible Bite activity ensured our chefs could understand and apply the verse. They also received a daily Scripture Treasure featuring the day's secret ingredient and Bible Bite.
Each day included music and singing, a Bible lesson, a practical application of that
lesson, a time for crafts, some snacks and some games and recreation. The week
also include a special mission project. One project was made possible through a
daily offering - and went to support the mission of St. Jude's Hospsital. A second project saw our chef's
bringing food items for an area food pantry. The results were AWESOME!
