WELCOME! We are pleased that you chose to worship with us today. We hope that this time spent with God and with friends in Christ will be spiritually uplifting to you. As you worship today, may the peace and the joy of the Lord be yours. We would be grateful if visitors would sign our Guest Book. And, if we can serve you in any way, or if you would like to make this your Church home, please speak to our Pastor or indicate this in the red fellowship pads.

Service Seeds: to prepare for worship and the Word

What is important in the life of a disciple? Jesus tells a parable about a rich

farmer which is a warning against all kinds of greed, and a challenge to "love God back" by living in ways that are rich toward God. We live in a world where we are constantly encouraged "to buy things we don’t really need, with money we don’t really have, to impress people we don’t really like." Today’s parable challenges us to look at our lives and to consider our attitude towards our possessions. What in our lives is demanding our focus, demanding our "souls"? How can we become rich toward God? How do we love God back?

Holy Communion

The Moravian Church practices an "open communion," which means that all who are baptized and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord are welcome to participate and receive the Sacrament in our service. If you have been receiving this Sacrament in your Church experience, you are welcome to receive it with us, too. It is "the Lord’s Table, not ours."

Distribution Procedure:

The procedure for serving communion is:

After the Bread has been consecrated, it is brought to the people, symbolizing the fact that God took the initiative and came to us. We need to respond to God’s offer of grace, which we symbolize by standing as the elements are brought to us. Therefore, please stand if you wish to receive the Sacrament.

The element is held until all served. Then all partake together, as a sign of our unity and equality.

The Cup is then consecrated and served in a similar manner.
